Worthy "Carson" Underwood, Jr.

Worthy Carson Underwood Jr, 78 of Nutter Fork, West Union, WV passed away  at home on Monday, January 27, 2025 with family by his side. He was born on September 15, 1946 in Salem, son of the late Worthy Carson Underwood Sr and Olive Faith Harbert Underwood.

Carson served his country in the Army National Guard for 18 years. He worked in the Oil Field for several years and was Sheriff of Doddridge County for 16 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors and riding his side by side.

Carson is survived by his four children, Edward Lee Underwood (Eureta), Rose Maria Underwood Stout all of West Union, Katrina See (John), Rusty Nicholson (Christy) all of Salem; grandchildren, Matthew, Mark, Robbie (Steph), Areta (Jamie) Kathy (D.L.), April, Jonathan, Cheyanne (Brandon), Austin (Emily) Tyler, R.J., Caleb (Hannah), Josh, Grace, Olivia, Sophia, and Jonathan; siblings, Roger L  Underwood (Ella Mae), Mary E Davis (David), Debra Underwood (Rick Watson) all of Salem; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; Father-in-law, Jim Hodges (Phyllis) of Reedsville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Pamela Anne Knight Underwood on Feb. 9, 2001; second wife, Pamela C Watson Underwood on March 8, 2023; one sister, Brenda Sue Lattea.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home West Union, 212 Front Street West Union WV on Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 3-7:00 PM and on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 9:00AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Chad Ash officiating.
