William “Hap” Arthur Farr

William “Hap” Arthur Farr, 82 of West Union passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at United Hospital Center. He was born on September 19, 1942 in Clarksburg, son of the late Paul Douglass and Carolyn “Billie” Elizabeth Gribble Farr.

Hap graduated from Greenbrier Military School in 1960 and West Virginia University with a bachelor’s degree in Geology. He worked in the family business, Empire Oil and Gas started by his grandparents. Hap’s hobbies were automobile racing, traveling, anything civil war period and the Round Table. He was on the board of directors for many years of Tri-County Bancorp, Inc (West Union Bank).

He leaves behind his siblings, Paul “Pete” Douglass Farr II, Little Hocking, OH, John Carlin Farr (Lorena) Woodinville, WA, Lee “Ann” Farr (Kenneth “Ken” Tubbs) Frankford, WV; one nephew, Joseph Farr, Parkersburg; one great niece, Caitlyn Farr.

A Celebration of Hap’s Life will be held at Davis Funeral Home 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, WV on Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 2:00-4:00 PM.  A Private Interment was held at Masonic Memorial Cemetery.
