This is for our father William J. Yongue, 82 of West Union who went to be with the Lord on Friday April 9, 2010 in the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Pittsburgh, PA.
He was born on October 11, 1927 in Mt. Holly, NC a son of the late Paul and Janet Ewing Yongue. His wife of 60 years Lena M. Yongue preceded him in death on Nov. 27, 2008.
Surviving are three daughters, Vickie Yongue, New Milton, Kimberley Gott, West Union, and Donna Jones, Eastern Shore, MD, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, sisters, Anita Miller, Diane Gibson, Sandy and Mary Yongue all of FL, two other girls who thought of our daddy as their own father, Susan Honeycutt, and Cathy Weher of Baltimore, MD.
Mr. Yongue lived in Baltimore, MD, more than 50 years and worked as a High Voltage Electrician for Bethlehem Steel for more than 40 years. After retirement he moved to West Union in 2007. He survived 2 wars, WWII and Korean Conflict and was a POW and was awarded two Purple Hearts. Mr. Yongue was a lifetime member of VFW and was a 33 Degree Scottish rite Mason, Jepatah Lodge 222 in Baltimore, MD.
At the request of Mr. Yongue he will be cremated and Memorial Services will be held at the convenience of the family in Baltimore, MD.
