William Whitehill Obituary

William George Whitehill 88, of West Union departed this life on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 in the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center. He was born July 12, 1926 in West Union a son of the late George and Wilmah Davis Whitehill. On July 23, 2003 he married Terri Finley Whitehill who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Brendan George Vilone Whitehill, Nicoma Jo Vilone Whitehill, both of Huntington and two daughters, LeAnna Dawn Fury, Lost creek, Angie Whitehill, NC.

He was preceded in death by two sons, William George Whitehill Jr, George Russell Whitehill and two brothers, John and Robert Whitehill.

Bill was a United States Navy veteran serving during World War II and Korean Conflict. He was a member of the VFW Post 543 and West Union American Legion. He was owner of the Whitehill Dental Art Studio where he was a Denturist. Bill loved life and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home, 212 Front St., West Union on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 1PM with Pastor Dan Lipscomb presiding. Interment will follow in the Masonic Memorial Park, West Union with full military rites accorded by the combined Doddridge County Veterans organizations. Family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, August 9th from 10AM until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Spurgeon Funeral Home to help defray funeral costs.
