William Lee Scott Sr., 85, of Center Point departed this life on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 in the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport. He was born on January 23, 1930 in Harrison County, a son of the late Harold and Nellie Yeater Scott. On June 27, 1952 he married Anna "Tot" Robison Scott who preceded him in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Nicholas, Salem, Joyce Gilbert and husband, David, Salem; and one son, William Lee Scott Jr., Chicopee, MA. He was preceded in death by one son, Jack Robison, two brothers and three sisters.
Mr. Scott was retired from Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company with 26 years service as a Crew Foreman. Bill had also worked for McLean Trucking and Glaspell Lumber. He was a U. S. Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. Bill enjoyed Blue Grass music and talking to his friends on Facebook.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home, 212 Front St., West Union on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 1:00PM with Pastor Chad Ash presiding. Interment will follow in the Freeman Cemetery, Piggin Run Rd., West Union. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Friday, October 23, 2015 from 2-8PM and after 9AM on Saturday until time of service. Full military graveside rites will be accorded by the Combined Doddridge Veterans Organizations. Spurgeon Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Scott family.
