William "Bill Jack" Curran, 65 of East Run (Big Flint Community) West Union departed this life on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 4, 1954 in Clarksburg a son of the late Charles Walton and Bonnie Faye Yerkey Curran. On April 28, 1973 he married Angela Cox Curran who survives.
Also surviving is one son Sgt. William "B.J." Curran and wife Carrie, Miletus, one daughter, Carla Nicole Davis and husband Rodney, Mechanicsville, VA, grandchildren, Makenna & Riley Curran, Rodney and Luke Davis, one sister Mary Jane Schafer and husband Cary, West Union. He was preceded in death by one brother Patrick Nile Curran.
Mr. Curran graduated from Doddridge County High School in 1972 and had attended Salem College. He retired from Harrison Rural Electric Company with 30 years service as a lineman. Bill Jack had served on the Doddridge County Board of Education for over 20 years and during his tenure he had served 4 years as President of the Board. He was member of Liberty Baptist Church. Bill Jack was an avid outdoorsman where he enjoyed deer, raccoon and bear hunting; and was also an accomplished hounds man. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Doddridge County High School Auditorium, Bulldog Dr. West Union on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Denver Burnside and Pastor Adam Cheeseman presiding.
The family will receive friends in the Doddridge County High School Auditorium on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. and after 11 a.m. on Wednesday until time of service. Spurgeon Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Curran family.
