Tinny B. Gray, 70, of Salem went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 10, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her loving family following an extended illness. She was born December 15, 1940 in Central Station a daughter of the late Thomas and Meada Demastus Lipscomb.
Surviving are one daughter, Helen Reed and husband James, Salem, four sons, Rex David Harper, Bobby Harper and wife Rita, John Harper and wife Lori, Harold Harper and wife Shirley, all of Salem, 15 grandchildren, Timmy and wife Endris, Michael Chandler and partner Christina Lowe, Rex David Harper and wife Kim, James Chandler and partner, Brandi Gowers, Mark Reed, Rebecca Harper, Jessie Davis and husband Jeff, Bobby Harper Jr., Ricky Harper Jr. Dalton Harper, Elizabeth Harper, Haden Harper, Danielle Harper, Haley Harper, Luke Kuhens, 7 great grandchildren, Tristen Reed, Michael Chandler Jr. James Chandler Jr., Brady Jones, Zach Davis, Emily Davis and Noah Lowe, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Beloved Husband and Father of her children, Rexall Marion Harper, and her second husband William Gray, two sons, Timmy Harper, Rick Harper and daughter-in law, Patty Harper, one sister, Dorathy Lipscomb-Gray, five brothers, Jean, Pete, Billy, Sonny and Jack Lipscomb.
Mrs. Gray will always be remembered as being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, enjoyed having the Bible read to her, telling stories of the days gone by and how much she enjoyed her children and grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home, 212 Front St., West Union on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 1:00PM with Pastor Adam Boyd officiating. Interment will follow in the Ruley Chapel Cemetery, Arnolds Creek. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Monday; June 13, 2011 from 1-8PM and after 9AM Tuesday until time of service.
