Susan Alice Miller, 79, of West Union, West Virginia, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 25, 2026, surrounded by the comfort of the place she loved most. Born on February 23, 1947, in Reading, Pennsylvania, she was the cherished daughter of the late George Benjamin Roberts and Ardell Kline Roberts.
Susan’s life was one of dedication, quiet strength, and deep love for her family. She was raised in Pennsylvania and later lived in Maryland, where she worked at NASA before continuing her career in West Virginia with the FBI. After years of hard work and service, beng in West Virginia, where she embraced a slower pace of life and the simple joys that brought her happiness. She found peace in tending her garden, nurturing her flowers, and caring for her home.
Above all, Susan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 39 years, Douglas “Doug” Roy Miller, whose life was enriched by her unwavering love and companionship. She leaves behind her daughter, Melissa “Missy” May DeMoss of Plano, Texas, along with Missy’s children, Cody O’Bryan, Kyle O’Bryan, Joshua Bailey, and Hope Bailey, and her cherished granddaughter, Everly. She is also survived by her son, Anthony “Toney” Wayne DeMoss and his wife, Jennifer, of Mount Airy, Maryland, along with his children and grandchildren, who will carry forward her legacy of love.
In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her brother, George Roberts, and her sister, Deborah Roberts.
Honoring her wishes, Susan will be cremated. Though she may be gone from this world, her warmth, kindness, and the beauty she brought into the lives of others will never be forgotten.
