Sammy Seldon Moran

Sammy Seldon Moran, 83 of West Union departed this life on Sunday, October 27, 2019 in J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown. He was born in Clarksburg on August 13, 1936 a son of the late Oral and Kathleen Marshall Moran. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shelia Kay Kinney Moran and one grandson, Jamie Todd Moran. He is survived by his wife Judith Grimm Moran.



Surviving are two sons, Sammy Todd Moran and wife Brenda, New Milton, Kenneth Paul Moran and wife Ronda, New Milton, one daughter, Stasha Jett and husband Colby, West Union, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, one brother, Ronald Moran and wife Barbara, Harrisville and two nephews.



Mr. Moran retired from Consolidated Natural Gas Company on July 1, 1993 as a Station Operator of Tonkin Station with 36 years and 6 months service. He was a 50 year member of Friendship Lodge #56 AF & AM where he had been a Past Master and had served as lodge Secretary for 40 years. Sammy was a 32 Degree Scottish Rite Mason with membership in Clarksburg and Wheeling Bodies. He was a member of West Union Chapter # 56 Order of Eastern Star where he was past patron. He was also Vice President of the Masonic Memorial Park Board of Directors and was a member of South Fork Baptist Church.



Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 56 Front St. West Union on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor David McCauley presiding. Interment will follow in the Masonic Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 from 2-8 p.m and after 9 a.m. on Thursday until time of service. Friendship Lodge #56 will assemble at the funeral on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. for the purpose of attending and conducting Masonic Graveside Rites.
