Russell J. "Rusty" Lipscomb,50, of Central Station community, West Union peacefully passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2013 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born February 23, 1963 a son of the late Russell Eugene and Ruby Faye Riffle Lipscomb. On October 31, 2009 he married Kate Bissonette who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Zoe Elizabeth Lipscomb, Kyrie Marie Lipscomb, Ruby Carleen Lipscomb, all at home, ten sons, Russell Eugene Lipscomb, Greenwood, Damien Ross Lipscomb, West Union, Nicholas Allen Lowther, Seattle , WA, Shawn Mitchell Lowther, Morgantown, John Daniel Kirker, West Union, Paul Michael Gaskins, at home, Thomas Aaron Gaskins, Big Flint, Maxwell Noble Lipscomb, Lucas James Long and Charles Gabriel Long, all at home,six grandchildren, two sisters, Doris Melott, Central Station and Glenda Melott, Central Station and one brother, Joseph Lipscomb, Stonewood.
"Rusty" had been employed for over 25 years at the WV Department of Highways as a heavy equipment operator. He was very mechanical and loved working on vehicles.
There will be a Time of Remembering Rusty on June 23, 2013 at the Old Greenwood Grade School (GVFD) from 12-4PM. There will be a potuck dinner. Expressions of sympathy may be extended to the family at www.spurgeonfunerals.com. Spurgeon Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Lipscomb family.
