Ruby “Marcelene” Zeigler Swentzel, 95 of Morgans Run enters GOD’S kingdom on Friday, September 19, 2025. Marcelene was born July 22, 1930, in Canton, Doddridge County, WV daughter of the late Charles William and Beulah (Kimball) Zeigler. Marcelene was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin “Buss” Adam Swentzel on August 25, 2011 whom she married on September 9, 1950. Marcelene graduated from Doddridge County High School, Class of 1948. She was an active member (1951 to present) of the Morgans Run UB Church. Her faith in GOD was unwavering. She was always active in her Community, Politics, PTO, 4-H, Morgans Run UB Church and one of the founding members in Doddridge Co. Park board and Doddridge Co. Medical Center. Marcelene was a truly wonderful person whose impact will be forever felt by her family, friends and neighbors. She was selfless woman whose passing left an unfillable gap in the hearts of her friends and loved ones. Her ability to sacrifice, provide support, forgive and love will be forever engrained in everyone who knew and loved her. She will be sadly missed.
Marcelene, the most loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, is survived by her beloved five children: Diane Boyd, Morgans Run and Peggy Smith (Rick), Blandville, Fred Swentzel (Darlene) Neil Swentzel (Saren), and Marvin Swentzel, all of Morgans Run; 13 grandchildren, Angela and James Anthos, Jason and April Swentzel, Adam and Dareth Swentzel, Andrea and Jacob Deem, Jessica and Randy Sheets, Melissa and James McCants, Erica and Bobby Corley, Clay and Felisha Swentzel , Rachel and Richard Roberts, Allison Boyd, Kelly Boyd, Paige Swentzel, Johnathan Swentzel and 15 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from her during her 95 years; two sisters, Edna Dettmon, Grantsville, and Patsy Zeigler, West Union; two brothers, Bill Zeigler, Weirton and Larry “Tom” Zeigler (Roseann), Akron, OH. In addition to her parents and husband, Marcelene was preceded in death by her one sister, Mildred Kush; her three brothers, Bruce Jackson “Jack” Zeigler, Charles Zeigler, Jr., and Raymond Zeigler; and one son-in-law, David Boyd. Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home – West Union, 212 Front Street, West Union on Monday, September 22, 2025 from 3-7PM and on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 from 9:00AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00AM with Pastor Randy Plaugher officiating.
