Ruby Mae Ashcraft

Ruby Mae Ashcraft, 95 of Big Flint Rd. West Union departed this life on Saturday, December 19, 2015. She was born on April 25, 1920 at Shelbyville a daughter of the late Jack and Nola Kelley Lang. In 1942 she married Hiram Ashcraft who preceded her in death on January 12, 1988.

Surviving are two sons, Arden Hiram Ashcraft and wife Beth Ann, West Union, James "Bub" Ashcraft and wife Enza, Chesapeake, four grandchildren, Jim Ashcraft and wife Beverly, Valerie Rowe and husband Jerry, Donna Mae McKneely and Franklin Ashcraft, six great grandchildren, three sisters, Florence Strokas, VA, Iva Potts and Anna Matheny both of Clarksburg. Two sisters, Wilma Polisky and Wanna Matheny preceded her in death.

Mrs. Ashcraft was a homemaker and care-giver for many years. She enjoyed reading the Bible and spending time with her grandchildren. Ruby had attended the Assembly of God Church.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front. St. West Union on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 1:00PM with Pastor George Masto presiding. Interment will follow in the Archbold Cemetery, Smithburg. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Monday, December 21, 2015 from 5-8PM and after 11AM on Tuesday until time of service.
