Ronnie Joe Kinney

Ronnie Joe Kinney, 62, of West Union passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 in his residence. He was born on November 24, 1947 in West Union a son of the late Russell and Ruth Elaine Nicholson Kinney. On April 25, 1973, he married Janice Elizabeth Westfall Kinney who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Franklin Russell Rusty Kinney and wife Jennifer, Jane Lew, Ronnie Joe Kinney, Jr. and wife Misti, Salem, one grandson, Ronnie Joe Trey Kinney III, four brothers, Robert Kinney, Russell Leroy Kinney, Richard Kinney, Rodney Buck Kinney, all of West Union, his mother-in-law, Flora Westfall, Nutter Fort and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Fannie Marie Adolph who he helped care for and one brother, Ray Kinney.

Ronnie retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways with 16 years of service and was previously employed at Star Furniture. He loved riding 4wheelers and spending time with his family and was a hard worker and a good provider. He attended the Rock Run Wesleyan Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held in the Spurgeon Funeral Home, 212 Front St., West Union on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 1:00PM with Reverend Mark Miller presiding. Interment will follow in the Masonic Memorial Park, West Union. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, May 13, 2010 from 2-4 & 6-8PM and from 9AM on Friday until time of service.
