Robert "Kodiak" John Cavins

Robert John "Kodiak" Cavins, age 63, of West Union, passed away on August 7, 2025. He was born on November 24, 1961 in Cleveland, OH, a son of the late Samuel Cavins and Jacqueline Chisholm Harris.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jessica Slaughter Cavins, who he married on September 11, 2014.

He is also survived by his three siblings: Douglas Cavins, Leslie Cavins, and Sandra Cavins.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother Dale Cavins.

Robert was a graduate of Columbia High School and proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He worked as a self-employed truck driver throughout his life, dedicating himself to his work and supporting his loved ones.

Though Robert was quiet by nature, he had a social spirit that made him a beloved presence to those who knew him. He had a deep love for animals, especially his dogs and cats, and he spent many peaceful hours tinkering in his office. Above all, he cherished the love and companionship of his wife, Jessica, who was the love of his life.
