Robert O. Montgomery

Robert O. Montgomery, 74, of HC 69, West Union departed this life on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the residence of his son in Parkersburg due to complications of lung cancer.

He was born in Parkersburg on August 27, 1937, a son of the late Ora and Bertha Cottrill Montgomery. On March 7, 1959 he married Sandra A. Shafer Montgomery who survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Skylar O. Montgomery, Minerals Wells, Robert J. Montgomery, Warner Robins, GA, Clifford W. Montgomery, Parkersburg, grandchildren, Skylene Montgomery, Kesha Deitz, Robert Christian Walker and Tori Dunbar, two sisters, Rella A. Dawson, Rt.18 N. West Union, Mary Lou Dawson, Pennsboro, three brothers, William C. Montgomery, Woodsfield, OH. Glenn H. Montgomery, West Union, Charles J. Montgomery, Pennsboro and several nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Jerry E. Montgomery, Kenneth C.Montgomery and Walter J. Montgomery preceded him in death.

Mr. Montgomery was retired from Pennzoil Corp. with 34 years service as a purchasing agent and was the owner and operator of Trails Inn, West Union.

A memorial service will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front St., West Union on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 4PM with Pastor Denver Burnside presiding. A time of gathering will be held one hour prior to service.
