Randell Greathouse Obituary

Randell H. Greathouse, 76 of Sunnyside Rd. West Union departed this life on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 in the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport. He was born on January 16, 1941 at Meat House Fork Rd. to the late Kenneth and Grace Viola Childers Greathouse. On October 29, 1965 he married Beatrice Blizzard Greathouse who survives.

Also surviving is one daughter, Terri Greathouse, one son, Brad Greathouse and wife Lisa both of West Union, three grandchildren, Amanda Greathouse, Robert and Billie Duff, four great grandchildren, one sister, Ellen Calhoun and husband Sam, Clinton, N.J., one brother, Elden "Bud" Greathouse, New Milton and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five sisters.

Mr. Greathouse was retired from Carnegie Gas Co. with 27 years' service; and had worked at the Fairview Diner for 13 years. He was a 1961 graduate of Doddridge County High School and enjoyed wrestling; NASCAR Racing with Dale Jarrett Jr. being his favorite driver. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

A memorial service will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front St. West Union on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 1:00PM with William, Edward and Burton Steward presiding. Friends may call after 11AM until time of service. Spurgeon Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Greathouse family.
