Pearle Beatty Obituary

Pearle Williams Beatty, 93, of Mary Lou Ave, Clarksburg passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2012. She was born on September 13, 1918 in Joseph Mills, Tyler County a daughter of the late Isaac and Inez Davis Headley. Twice married, she was preceded in death by her first husband Edward Williams on November 20, 1969 and her second husband Dennis Beatty on June 2, 2001.

Surviving are five daughters, Alice McCarty, Lumberport, Rachel Smith, Scituate, MA,Bette Baughman, Clarksburg, Netia Reynolds and husband Butch, Lumberport, Mary Walters, Green River, WY, all daughters of Edward Williams, three step daughters, Brenda Swiger, Lumberport, Linda Heinzelmann and husband Fred, Anchorage, Alaska, Mona Harris and husband Virgil, Kileen, TX, two special daughters, Sandra Haggerty, Wyatt Iva Jean Harrison, Lumberport, step son, Robert Beatty and wife Betty, St. Marys, 13 grandchildren, Glen, Anita, Lyle, Jeff, Pat, Arthur, Melinda, Chris, Edward, Janene, Billy, Steve, Chip, Tim, and Diane, 21 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by 3 sons-in- law, Don McCarty, James McCarty and Jay Walters.

Mrs. Beatty graduated from Tyler County High School and attended Glenville State College and received her B.S. Degree in education from Davis & Elkins College. She had been employed by the Harrison County Board of Education as a 5th grade teacher at Wallace Elementary and then retired from Pleasants County Board of Education in special education. She was a member of the Lumberport United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday August 30, 2012 at 1PM in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Tyler County. Family will receive friends in the Spurgeon Funeral Home, 212 Front St., West Union on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 from 4-8PM.
