Oma Pratt, 83, Of West Union passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 in the United Hospital Center. She was born April 14, 1925 at Center Point a daughter of the late Robert Phillips and Elsie Young Spencer. Her husband Carl Frederick Pratt preceded her in death on March 11, 1993.
Surviving are one daughter, Carlotta Jean Davis and husband Fred, Titusville, FL, three sons, Denzil F. Pratt and wife Shirley, West Union, Robert C. Pratt, Martinsburg, Frederick C. Pitts and wife Maria, Lakeside, CA, 19 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, one sister, Mary Spencer, Deerfield, OH. Three sisters preceded her in death.
Mrs. Pratt had worked for Dr. R.A. Humphrey in his clinic in West Union as a nurses aide and then retired from Cottage Corner Restaurant in West Union with 8 years service. She enjoyed being a homemaker, working in her flower garden and sewing. Oma was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She was a member of the Church of Christ, West Union.
Friends may call in the Spurgeon Funeral Home, 212 Front St., West Union on Thursday, August 21, 2008 from 4-8PM and from 9AM until time of service on Friday. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, August 22nd at 1PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor David McCauley officiating. Interment will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery, Little Flint.
