Pauline N. Wallace, 97 of Bridgeport formerly of West Union departed this life on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the home of her daughter Karen Shaw. She was born at Greenwood on April 15, 1922 a daughter of the late George and Myrle Williams McCullough. She was preceded in death by her husband Drexel E. Wallace, one daughter, Dixie McAfee, one brother, J.F. "Bud" McCullough, three sisters, Rowena Morris, Vivian Braswell and Maxine Tustin, one grandson Rodney Wallace and son-in-law Ronald R. Shaw.
Surviving are one daughter, Karen L. Shaw, Bridgeport, one son, Drexel E. Wallace II and wife June, New Milton, one sister, Donna Helmick, Weirton, one son in law, Lowell McAfee of West Union and 9 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Wallace had attended Doddridge County High School. She was a member of the Central Station Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Pauline was a caregiver to her husband and continued to be sought out to provide wonderful care and companionship to many friends and relations until the age of 85. She enjoyed creating works of art in paintings, crochet and quilting. She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother and friend with a servants heart.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 56 Front St. West Union on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with David Mitchell presiding. Interment will follow in the Masonic Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Monday, November 4, 2019 after 11 a.m. until time of service. Spurgeon Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Wallace family.
