Pauline Sharpes Obituary

Pauline Frame Sharpes, 84 of Long Run Rd. Salem went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 13, 2016 in the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport. She was born on February 24, 1932 at Rosedale (Gilmer County) a daughter of the late Francis Delbert and Ruey Agnes Stump Frame Moyers. On July 8, 1950 she married Oren Bazel Sharpes who preceded her in death on December 15, 1988.

Surviving are two sons, Walter Oren Sharpes, Salem, John Delbert Sharpes and wife Lila L. Salem, 4 grandchildren, John Michael Sharpes, Salem, William Oren Sharpes and wife Krystal, Salem, Lila Sue Sharpes, Shinnston, Sharon McKay, Virginia, two great grandsons, Jessie Lee Sharpes, Oren William Sharpes, both of Salem, three sisters-in-law, Ivy Burns, Frametown, Inez Frame, Wallace, Sandra Cosner, Mt. Storm, one brother-in-law, Earl Sands, OH, one step brother, Nolan Moyers and wife Sandy, Frametown, one step sister, Phyllis Reeser and husband Dayton, Frametown, twelve nephews, nine nieces and several great nieces and nephews. Pauline was the last surviving member of her immediate family being preceded in death by seven brothers, Dorsey, Hobert, Harley, Dalton, Floyd, Camden and Delbert Jr. Frame, five sisters, Opal Andress, Mary Sobotka, Maggie Sands, Virginia Thomas, infant sisters, one daughter-in-law, Twila Sharpes, step father, Lester E. Moyers, three sister-in-laws, four nephews and one great nephew.

Pauline was a loving mother and grandmother, her family was the most important thing in her life. Pauline was a member of the Victory Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending and working in the church especially working with the young people for several years. Pauline enjoyed reading the Bible and being on the Monday night prayer line for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, quilting, gardening, canning, cooking and working sudoku and crossword puzzles. Pauline was a graduate of Rosedale Grade School.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front St. West Union on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 11:00AM with Pastor Ken Kelley and Pastor Dennis Napier officiating. Interment will follow in the Crooked Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, Gilmer County. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 4-8PM and after 9AM on Thursday until time of service.
