Olive Faith Underwood, 81 of Rt. 2 Salem (Buckeye Community) passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 in the United Hospital Center.

She was born on June 14, 1927 in Lumberport a daughter of the late Ollie Ray and Grace Ernestine Stier Harbert. On July 12, 1945 she married Worthy Carson Underwood Sr. who preceded her in death on July 1, 1993.

Surviving are three daughters, Mary E. Davis and husband David, (Buckeye Community) with whom she made her home, Brenda Sue Lattea, Wiseman Run Rd., Debra Ann Underwood and companion Steve Blankenbaker, Fredericksburg, VA, two sons, Worthy Carson Underwood Jr. and wife Pamela, Nutter Fork, Roger L. Underwood and wife Ella Mae, Wiseman Run Rd. grandchildren, Edward Lee Underwood and wife Rita, Rosy Stout and husband Glen, Rebecca Mace and husband Scott, David Davis Jr., Paul Underwood and companion Virginia Greene, Derek Underwood, Christopher Lattea and companion Jessica Doll, Aaron & Brandon Lattea, Dorothy Jean Beyer, Rusty Nicholson and Katrina See, great grandchildren, Jonathan & Cheyenne Stout, Justin & Brandon Mace, McKenzie Davis, Justice, Jayden & Jeonah Underwood, Juliana & Brendon Lattea, Austin & Tyler Nicholson, Olivia See, and several step grandchildren, one sister, Ruth Ann Harbert Lockwood and husband Robert, Littlestown, PA, one brother, Leonard Harbert and wife Shelia, Columbus, OH, three sisters-in-laws, Loretta Harbert, Jane Lew, Bonnie J. Sally Underwood, Nutter Fork, Eleanor Jean Underwood, Salem and several nieces & nephews. One daughter-in-law, Pamela Ann Knight Underwood, one son-in-law, Charles Andrew Lattea, one brother, Blaine Harbert, one infant brother, Donald Paul Harbert and one sister, Ernestine Ruble preceded her in death.

Mrs. Underwood was a lifetime member of the Victory Baptist Church. She enjoyed embroidering, basketball, game shows and spending time with her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Friends may call in the Spurgeon Funeral Home, 212 Front St., West Union, Thursday, December 4, 2008 from 6-8 PM and on Friday, December 5th from 2-8 PM where funeral services will be held on Saturday December 6, 2008 at 11:00AM with Pastor Robert Merritt and Pastor Tim Underwood officiating. Interment will follow in the Wolverton Cemetery.
