Norman Scott Ferrebee, 90, of Center Point, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 9, 2026, at United Hospital Center, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on August 3, 1935, in Doddridge County, West Virginia, Norman was the beloved son of the late Henry Lemuel and Nola Childers Ferrebee. After the loss of his parents, he was lovingly raised by his grandmother, Laura Bell Dotson Childers, whose strength and guidance helped shape the man he would become. Norman was a proud graduate of Doddridge County High School and carried a deep sense of duty throughout his life. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam Wars, dedicating 20 years to military service and earning numerous medals along the way. His commitment did not end there—Norman went on to a second career with Metter-Toledo Scale Company, where he worked another 20 years before retiring. Few things defined him more than his unwavering loyalty to his country and his work ethic. Above all else, Norman’s heart belonged to his family. He shared 70 devoted years of marriage with his beloved wife, Marilyn Audrey Lohry Ferrebee, a partnership built on love, faith, and perseverance. He was a proud and loving father to Patricia Ferrebee of Center Point; Sylvia Lynn Fennell of Macon, Georgia; Julie Hall (Lloyd) of Bridgeport; William Ferrebee of Charleston, West Virginia; James Ferrebee of Center Point; and David Ferrebee of Center Point. His legacy continues through his 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride. Norman found happiness in life’s simple pleasures—collecting watches and clocks, camping trips, and family movie nights that brought everyone together. A man of quiet faith, he was Baptist by belief and lived his values through love, service, and dedication. Those who knew him will remember his steady presence, his deep sense of responsibility, and the way he always put family first. In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by his beloved son, Robert Ferrebee; his sisters, Phyllis Ferrebee and Janice Weeks; his brother, Albert Leroy Ferrebee; and his son-in-law, Donald Wayne Fennell. Family and friends will be received at Davis Funeral Home – West Union, 212 Front Street, West Union, on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and again on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 9:30 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 AM, Officiant for service will be Pastor Jon Hayes.
