Nellie Mae Greathouse, 77, of Sugar Camp Rd., New Milton departed this life on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 10, 1938 at Elizabeth, a daughter of the late Jack Valentine and Belva Marie Rose Valentine. On December 30, 1961 she married Elden S. Greathouse who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Sherry Pritt and husband Rob, West Union, two sons, Mark and Timothy Greathouse both of New Milton, grandchildren, Matthew Greathouse, Morgantown, Shala Ash and husband Cody, Salem, Brittany Greathouse, St. Mary's, Cody Greathouse, New Milton, sisters, Lillian Bartee, Blandville, Mellie Powell and Janice White, both of West Union, two brothers, Bud Valentine, West Union, Jack Valentine, Clarksburg. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Robert, Rodney, Roger, Richard and Charles Valentine.
Mrs. Greathouse was a former employee of Quality Garment as a seamstress. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and farming. She attended the Blandville United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front St. West Union on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 1:00PM with Pastor Bill Davis presiding. Interment will follow in the 7th Day Baptist Church Cemetery, Middle Island. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 4-8PM and after 9AM Thursday until time of service.
