Myrtle Marie Prunty

Myrtle Marie Prunty 82 of Rt. 1 West Union (Summers Community) passed away on Tuesday December 1, 2009 at her residence.

She was born on December 1, 1927 in Clarksburg a daughter of the late Doy Lee Prunty Sr. and Audrey Dawson Prunty.

Surviving is one sister, Nell Lawson, Baltimore, MD, one brother, Doy Lee Prunty Jr. Baltimore, MD. and several nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Elmore Prunty, Edgar Ray Prunty and four sisters, Rhoda Price, Azalee Reynolds, Mae Boggs and Sarah Smith preceded her in death.

Miss Prunty retired from the Western Electric Company as an assembly line worker with 20 years service. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America and National Rifle Association.

Funeral services will be held on Friday December 4, 2009 at 11:00AM in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front St. West Union with Pastor Denver Burnside officiating. Interment will follow in the Bridgeport Cemetery. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, December 3, 2009 from 4-8PM.
