Mildred G. Cork, 66 of Big Flint Rd. Salem departed this life on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 in her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 7, 1952 in Harrison County a daughter of the late Denzil and Wilma Smith Cork.
Surviving are four sisters, Bonnie Cavins, Salem, Beatrice Ashcraft and husband Grover, Doylestown, OH, Sharon Hutson and husband Jeff, Salem, Cynthia Doll and husband Bill, Tyler Co. five brothers, Ellsworth Cork and wife Patty, Burties Cork and wife Barbara, Denzil Cork Jr., Frances Cork and wife Cathy and Clifford Cork all of Salem, several nieces and nephews. She is also preceded in death by one sister, Becky Truax and one brother, Kenneth Cork, one niece, Sally Truax, two brother in laws, Rodney Cavins and Harry Truax and one sister in law, Cathy Cork.
Middy enjoyed playing cards with her nieces and nephews and no one ever knew who was cheating. She also enjoyed Crocheting, painting, arts and crafts. Middy was a member of the Vermont Baptist Church. She was a loving sister, aunt and friend and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Vermont Baptist Church, Skelton, on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Chad Ash presiding. Miss Cork will lie in state one hour prior to her service. Interment will follow in the Cork Family Cemetery, Elk Horn Rd. The family will receive friends in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front St. West Union on Friday, October 26, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. Spurgeon Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Cork family.
