Merldine Ibbs

Merldine Ibbs, 83, of Brush Run, West Union departed this life on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 in her residence. She was born on January 2, 1929 in Steubenville, OH a daughter of the late Howard and Margaret Jones Stenger.

Surviving are one daughter, Roxann Leasure and husband, Albert, West Union, one son, Russell Shively, Richmond, VA and one granddaughter, Cristy Leasure. She was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Renee Shively and one sister, Madeline Friend.

Mrs. Ibbs was a retired owner and operator of two beauty salons. She loved bowling, knitting and crocheting. She was a very hard worker and loved spending time with her family and neighbors. She was a member of the Findley United Methodist Church, Steubenville and attended the Rock Run Wesleyan Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held in the Spurgeon Funeral Home, 212 Front St., West Union on Friday, February 3, 2012 at 1PM with Pastor David McCauley presiding. Interment will follow in the Chestnut Grove Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, February 2, 2012 from 6-8PM and after 9AM until time of service on Friday.
