Mary Edwina Marin

Mary Edwina Marin, 81 of West Union departed this life on Monday August 14, 2017 in her home following an extended illness. She was born on July 28, 1936 at West Union a daughter of the late Edward V. and Mary H. Hoskinson Mackey. On May 25, 1974 she married Gaetan Marin who survives as well as several cousins. One sister precedes her in death, Milly Ann Mackey.
Edwina attended Glenville High School and Glenville State College. She and Gaeten lived in Connecticut where she worked as a contract bus operator and a receptionist for the State of Connecticut. They moved back to West Union in 1990 where she worked as a Manager for the Doddridge County Solid Waste Authority for 21 years. Edwina was an advocate for the humane treatment of all animals. She loved her dog Frisky, cat Blue and horses Thunder and Lightning. She had worked as a volunteer for the West Union Fire Department and was a past member of the Doddridge County Humane Society and PETA. Edwina had attended the West Union Christian Church and the West Union Baptist.
At her request she was cremated. Spurgeon Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Marin family.
