Marvin Dewane Dotson

Marvin Dewane Dotson, 68, of New York Ave., West Union departed this life on Friday, September 12, 2014. He was born on August 10, 1946 in Doddridge County a son of the late Earl F. and Lena M. Grimm Dotson. On March 23, 1968 he married Nancy Sayre Dotson who survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Margie Dotson, West Union, three brothers, Paul Dotson, West Union, Loren Dotson, Smithburg, Eddie Dotson, Smithburg and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Fred, Russ and Donald Dotson and two sisters, Ruth Colter and Betty Smith.

Marvin was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam Era.. He was retired from WV Department of Highways and was employed by Hall's Drilling. He loved his coon dog, Ranger and enjoyed hunting and racing. He also loved spending time with his daughter, Margie and his loving wife, Nancy.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home, 212 Front St., West Union on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 11AM with Pastor Denver Burnside presiding. Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Harrisville with full military graveside rites accorded by the Doddridge County combined veterans organizations. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 6-8PM on Friday, September 19, 2014.
