Madeline Means, 99, of Chevront Ave. West Union departed this life on Saturday, December 8, 2012 in the Clarksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on December 24, 1912 on Johnson Fork, Doddridge County a daughter of the late Skyler and Reta Jane Nicholson Davis. On December 28, 1933 she married Fred Means who preceded her in death in 1989, also preceding her in death, her grandson, David Means in 1992.
Surviving is two sons, Clinton D. Means and wife Nancy, Smithburg, Cary G. Means and wife Patty, Sunnyside Community, three grandchildren, Kevin Means and wife Cindy, Kelli Jett and husband Tony, Scott Means, step grandchildren, Randy & Carrie Yerkey, Bobbi Yerkey King & husband Joe King, five great grandchildren and 10 step great grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family being preceded in death by four brothers and 11 sisters.
Mrs. Means was a member of the Johnson Fork Church. She enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front St. West Union on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 2:00PM with Dr. Kevin Means presiding. Interment will follow in the K of P Memorial Park, Salem. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 4-8PM and after 9AM on Thursday until time of service.
