Louetta Bode, 80 of Avondale departed this life on Monday, April 7, 2014 in the Genesis Health Care Center, Salem. She was born on October 27, 1933 at Ashley, Doddridge County the daughter of the late Herbert and Hazel Ash Carroll. On September 26, 1953 she married Nolan Bode who preceded her in death November 10, 2006.Surviving is three sons, David Bode and wife Jill, Salem, Craig Bode, West Union, Mike Bode and wife Debbie West Union, grandchildren, Nicole Sleeth, Holly Chancellor and Amanda Bode, great grandchildren, Tessa & Maggie Sleeth and Olivia Chancellor, brothers, Bobbie Carroll and wife Jean, Stow, OH, Gail Carroll and wife Bernice, Sherwood, Jack Carroll, East Liverpool, OH, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Dennis, Ronald, Billy & Denver Carroll, four sisters, Hazel Zethra Carroll, Imogene Griffith, Norma Lee Ross and Eldra Rae Cumpston.Lou was a former employee of Travis Greenhouse, Doddridge County Board of Education as a substitute cook and Doddridge County Senior Citizens as a cook. She was a charter member of the Doddridge County Emergency Squad, member of West Union and Smithburg Fire Dept. Ladies Aux. and Smithburg United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front. St. West Union on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 11:00AM with Pastor Robert Marino presiding. Interment will follow in the Freeman Cemetery, Crystal Lake. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 from 2-8PM.
