Lorelei Sue Ford Phillips, 90, of West Union, passed away on Tuesday, July 09, 2024 at the Bridgeport Healthcare Center. She was born on August 16, 1933, in West Union, a daughter of the late Hadsal Mansfield and Thelma Louise Smith Ford.
Lorelei graduated from Doddridge County High School. She was a homemaker and went back to Salem College to get her Nursing Degree. She worked at United Hospital Center as a Registered Nurse, then ran the Doddridge County Health Department, worked for the State of WV as a nurse surveyor and retired as Director of Nursing at Clarksburg Continuous Care. She was on the city council for West Union. She was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church and previous member of the Order of the Eastern Star #56 of West Union. She was in the “The Ford Trio” and performed on TV and local Radio in her younger years. She collected Indian and Chicken Figurines and enjoyed traveling and milkshakes.
Lorelei is survived by her three sons, Mark L. Phillips and companion, Debbie Parsons, West Union, Clifton Eric Phillips, West Union, and Timothy Clark Phillips and wife Mary, West Union; ten grandchildren, Joseph Thornton and wife Julie, Derek Phillips, Lucas Phillips, Tanna Phillips and companion Chris Borchert, Casey Vojchek and husband Austin, Bobby Phillips, Samantha Kohut, and Johnathan Prather; several great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Lorelei is preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Bob Phillips on August 9, 2009; two daughters, Roberta Thornton and Tanna Marie Phillips, one granddaughter, Stacey Biscombe; four siblings, Betty Francis Ford, Thelma Mae “Tootsie” Napier, Donald “Don” Ford, and James “Jim” Ford.
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home -West Union, 212 Front Street, West Union, WV, on Thursday, July 11, 2024 from 3:00 – 7:00 PM and on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 11:00AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM with Jeff King officiating.
