Leota B. Tootie McKinney 80, of West Union went home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, January 29, 2009 in her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 1, 1928 in West Union a daughter of the late Homer and Fawnda Seckman Spencer. On October 10, 2001 her husband Lester D. Bub Mac McKinney preceded her in death.
She is survived by her two daughters, Pam Higginbotham and husband, William, West Union, Mary Jane Anderson and husband, Kenneth, Akron, OH grandchildren, Daniel C. Anderson, Leslie D. Anderson, Christopher D. Anderson, all of Akron, Eric Higginbotham, West Union, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, her granddaughter, Rose Higginbotham and one sister, Nina McKinney, preceded her in death.
Leota retired as a secretary from Ohio Valley Hospital and was a member of the Red Oak Grove Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 1:00 PM in the Spurgeon Funeral Home, 212 Front St., West Union with Pastor Matthew Baldwin officiating. Interment will follow in the Gaskins Cemetery. Family and friends may call in the funeral home chapel on Friday, January 30, 2009 from 4-8PM and from 9AM until time of service on Saturday.
