Lenna Smith Obituary

Lenna Belle Smith, 86, of Smithburg passed away on April 13, 2009. She was born on March 10, 1923 in Blandville a daughter of the late William A. and Lenna Grace Rawson Shields. On July 4, 1942 she married Ernest Elden Smith who preceded her in death.

She is survived by three daughters, Judy (Al) Spencer, Sistersville, Patricia (Byran) Hagedorn, Smithburg, Susan (Terry) Walker, West Union, three sons, Elden Sonny (Trudy) Smith, Smithburg, David Smith, Clarksburg, Mark Smith, Smithburg, grandchildren, Holly (Joe) Clawson, Barry (Kathy) Spencer, Stephanie (Erasmo) Najar, Christina Ingram, Scott Smith, Kirk Smith, Dustin (Ashley) Smith, Danielle (Lee) Ferrell, Christopher (Rosella) McCallister, Jennifer (Sem) Kishawi, Ben McCallister, Jordan Walker, Garrett Walker and 12 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, three brothers, Dale, Gilbert and Denver, two sisters, Geraldine Sommerville and Esteleen Miller and a great granddaughter, Hannah Clawson, preceded her in death.

Lenna Belle had been secretary to Judge Max DeBerry and Prosecuting Attorney, Robert Holland, Sr., worked in the Doddridge County Assessors office as secretary and Deputy Assessor, secretary for Department of Highways, outreach worker for Doddridge County Senior Citizens and foster grandmother at West Union Grade School for 16 years. She was a member of the Smithburg United Methodist Church.

Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, West Union with Pastor Bill Davis officiating.
