Lawrence Bub Keys, 95, of Wabash Ave. West Union passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 in the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport. He was born in Canton, WV on July 8, 1917 a son of the late Benjamin L. and Lula Bell Wilcox Keys. On June 22, 1950 he married Wanda F. Haught Keys who survives.
Also surviving are two sisters, Winona Lancaster and Donna Leggett both of Clarksburg and several nieces and nephews. One brother, William O. Jim Keys and three sisters, Geraldine Lowe, Betty Doreen Chapman and Gwalia Dawson preceded him in death.
Mr. Keys was the owner and operator of Keys Barber Shop in West Union for 23 years. He attended Fairview Church. Mr. Keys was a veteran of WWII serving in Alaskas Dutch Harbor and was a member of VFW Post 3408. Bub enjoyed all outdoors activities, hunting, gardening and took great pride with his lawn.
Funeral services will be held in the Spurgeon Funeral Home, 212 Front St., West Union on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 11:00 AM with Tim Holtz officiating. Interment will follow in the Masonic Memorial Park, Crystal Lake, West Union. Family and friends may call in the funeral home chapel on Friday, August 17, 2012 from 4-8PM.
