Larry Wayne Shinn

Larry Wayne Shinn 63 of Valley St. Salem departed this life on Friday, April 10, 2015 in the United Hospital Center. He was born on September 30, 1951 in Clarksburg, a son of Neva Cross Shinn Ritter, Bridgeport, and the late Don Shinn.

Surviving are two sisters, Judy Shinn Garner and husband Lionel, Porter, TX, Debbie Shinn Cantrell and husband Mark, Salem, two nephews, Jeff and Greg Garner, several great nieces and nephews.

Larry was a 1972 graduate of Doddridge County High School and graduated from a Vocational School in Charleston. He had worked for the Doddridge County Emergency Squad cleaning ambulances. Larry was a Star Trek enthusiast and had attended the Star Trek National Convention in Los Angeles, CA. He collected Southwestern Artifacts and enjoyed watching Western Movies.

The family wishes to thank the caregivers at The Heritage, a skilled nursing facility in Bridgeport, and the 6th floor staff of the United Hospital Center, especially Dr. Paul Davis and Larry's nurse, Christina.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front St. West Union on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 1:00PM with Pastor Kevin Bender officiating. Interment will follow in the Masonic Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Sunday from 6-8PM.
