Kennetta Davis Obituary

Kennetta Kay Davis, 62, of Middlebourne departed this life on Thursday, June 2, 2011 in her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 9, 1948 in West Union a daughter of the late Kenneth Hale and Emma Leona Bonnell Friend. She is survived by her husband, Rodney Jack Davis.

Also surviving is daughter Marsha K. Smith, Bucyrus, OH, two sons, Robert A. Smith, Bucyrus, OH, Donnie Ray Griffey, Middlebourne, one step son, Benjamin Davis, Middlebourne, one step daughter, Jackie Baker, Middlebourne, two brothers, Roger Friend and wife Lora, West Union, John Friend, West Union, five grandchildren, eight step grandchildren and her aunt/mother, Edwina Bonnell, West Union.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Eunice Bonnell, Bill and Iva Friend, former husband, Bill Griffey and infant daughter, Donna Rae Griffey.

Kay was a housewife and liked crafts. She was a former owner of a florist in West Union. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and enjoyed life to the fullest, especially spending time with her family. Her mischievous smile will always be remembered.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home, 212 Front St., West Union on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Chad Ash officiating. Interment will follow in the Masonic Memorial Park, West Union. Family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Friday, June 3, 2011 from 4-8PM.
