Joseph "Joey" Edwin Landers

Joseph Edwin "Joey" Landers, 37, of West Union departed this life on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 of natural causes. He was born in Clarksburg on August 5, 1979 a son of Gary Landers, Salem and Linda Martin Hawkins, Salem. On September 27, 2008 he married Jennifer Lynn Barnhill Landers who survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Gracie Jean Landers, one son, Joey Edwin Landers, at home, step father, Gary Hawkins, Salem, step mother, Crystal Landers, Salem, three sisters, Amanda Light and husband Jeffrey, Weston, Victoria Angel, Morgantown, Ivy Deal and husband Eric, Morgantown, one nephew, Miles Light and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harry and Patsy Landers; maternal grandparents, Robert and Charlotte Martin and one uncle Doug Landers.

Joey was employed by Jay Bee Oil and Gas Company as a well tender. He was a member of Friendship Lodge #56 AF & AM. Joey was a metal and wood craftsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting and most of all spending time with his family.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front St. West Union on Monday, August 7, 2017 at 1:00PM with Pastor Randy Plaugher presiding. Interment will follow in the Masonic Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, August 6, 2017 from 4-8PM and after 9AM on Monday until time of service. Friendship Lodge #56 will meet at Spurgeon Funeral Home on Monday, August 7, 2017 at 12:30PM for the purpose of attended and conducting graveside rites. Spurgeon Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Landers family.
