Obituary-West Union- Jimmie Lee Adams, 79, of West Union, a long time resident of Doddridge County passed away on Friday, July 25, 2008 following a long battle of Alzheimers. He was born March 4, 1929 in West Union a son of the late Clad and Dolly Elliott Adams.

Jimmie is survived by 3 daughters, Cynthia Brooks and husband, Homer, Jr., West Union, Jeanetta Blake and husband, Duane, West Union, Angela Wright and husband, Paul, Boston, MA, 3 sons, Jimmie George Adams and Jennifer, Buckhannon, Robert Adams and wife, Rebecca, Buckhannon, Michael Adams and wife, Linda, West Union, 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and a 10th due later this year and 3 sisters, Blanche Adkins, NY, Margaret Adams, West Union and Dolly Lou Perine, West Union.

Jimmie was a country gentleman who enjoyed working his farm, hunting and fishing. He had worked for over 20 years for Spencer Enterprises until retirement. He enjoyed time spent with his children and their families. Jimmie had a big heart and was always ready to lend a hand to all. He was a Methodist by faith.


Friends may call in the Spurgeon Funeral Home, 212 Front St., West Union on Saturday, July 26, 2008, from 4-8PM and after 10am on Sunday until time of services. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, July 27, 2008 at 2:00PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Bud Greathouse officiating. Interment will follow in the Ruley Chapel Cemetery, Arnolds Creek. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
