Jerry F. Leeson

Jerry F. Leeson, 56 of Coatesville, PA, formerly of West Union departed this life on Thursday, December 30, 2010 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 28, 1954 at Oxford a son of the late James and Rachel Pierce Leeson.

Surviving are two sisters, Lucille Perine and husband, Alfred with whom he lived with, Patty Hickman and husband, Bob, Parkersburg, two brothers, James Leeson and wife Norma Jean, Vienna, Charles Leeson, Parkersburg. In addition to his siblings, 10 nieces and nephews, 22 great nieces and nephews and 6 great great niece and nephews, are left to carry on his memory. In addition to his parents, he was preceded into Heaven by two nieces and two nephews.

Jerry was a beloved brother, uncle and friend. He enjoyed church, gospel music, swinging on the porch, ice cream and of course the fire house. He was a member of the Modena Fire Company where he received an award for being such an inspiration to the company Firefighters/EMTs, many of which were his own family. He was a remarkable man, whose heart was bigger than most and his smile lit up any room he walked into.

Funeral services will be held in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front St. West Union on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 11:00AM with Reverend Charles Leeson presiding. Interment will follow in the Hart Cemetery, Oxford. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 from 4-8PM and after 9AM on Thursday until time of service.
