James Bert Scott

James Bert "Jimmy Bert" Scott, 82 of Alma departed this life on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at his residence. He was born on August 2, 1936 in West Union a son of the late Bertie Guy and Donna Bonnell Scott. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Daugherty Scott.



Surviving are two sons, Steven Ray Scott, Berryville, VA, William Guy Scott and wife Brenda, Cortland, OH, one daughter, Cynthia Marie Scott, Johnson, OH, grandchildren, Michael Scott, Cape Canaveral, FL, Jennifer Cicchetti, Coca, FL, John, Michelle, Shannon and David Goss, all of Warren, OH., 19 great grandchildren, one sister-in-law Judy McDaniel and husband Howard, Salem and a special friend, Judy Kinney, Shirley, WV. One son, Benton James Scott preceded him in death.



Mr. Scott had worked for Republic Steel, Warren, OH for 13 years and retired from Specialty Pipe and Tube with 17 years as a machine operator. He enjoyed hunting deer, squirrel and rabbit. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.



A memorial service will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front St. West Union on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor David McCauley presiding. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel one hour prior to service. Private committal service will be held at the convenience of the family. Spurgeon Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Scott family.
