James Bonnell Obituary

James Forrest Bonnell , 82, of New Milton, WV passed away December 8, 2014 surrounded by family at Hospice of Dayton, Ohio. He was born September 22, 1932 in West Union, WV a son of the late Forest Creed and Mary Blanche Nutter Bonnell. Fifty six years ago he married Jacqueline Suzette Rheinhardt Bonnell who survives.
Also surviving are three children; James Steven Bonnell (Viki Kerek partner) of Wyoming, Ohio, Jeffrey Lyn Bonnell (Tawnya Prater Bonnell) of Middletown, Ohio and Tamala Suzette Bonnell Horwath (James Lawrence Horwath) of Centerville, Ohio. Brothers and Sisters; Helen Josephine Moore, Jackie Blaine Bonnell (deceased), Virginia Jeraldyne Heidtman, David Nelson Bonnell, Howard Duane Bonnell, Linda Lea Marks, Jon Lyn Bonnell, and Mary Beth Cox. Grandchildren; Nathanael Bonnell, Micah Bonnell, Andy Kimball, Alex Kimball, Erica Kain, Katie Hodge, Kyle Bonnell, Travis Smith, Jacqueline Smith, Benjamin Horwath and Emily Horwath. Great Grandchildren; Emma Bonnell and William Taylor.
Jim was a 1950 graduate of Doddridge County High School. He received his Bachelor's degree from Salem College, Salem, and was a retired Science Teacher from Eaton High School, Eaton, OH with 30 year's service. He was United States Marine Corps Veteran serving from 1953 to 1956. Jim was a member of St. Johannes Lutheran Church, St Clara, WV, Grace Lutheran Church of Eaton, Ohio and was presently attending the Smithburg United Methodist Church. He had served as a Special Deputy in the Eaton, OH, Sheriff's Department. Jim was a member of West Union Lions Club, WV Right to Life and had worked in West Union Food Pantry. He was involved with Adopt-a-Highway program, Habitat for Humanity and the American Red Cross. Jim enjoyed hunting and construction work. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Interment will be in the Dayton National Cemetery, Dayton, OH with full military honors at the convenience of the family. A memorial service will be conducted in the Smithburg United Methodist Church on January 3, 2015 at 11:00AM with Pastor Bill Davis officiating.
