James "Jim" Ballenger, 69 of Smithton Rd. West Union departed this life on Sunday, February 23, 2014 in the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport. He was born on August 18, 1944 in Salem, N.J. a son of Sophie Vengenock Ballenger, West Union and the late John R. "Jack" Ballenger. On March 2, 2006 he married Ruby Gilman Ballenger who survives.
Also surviving is one daughter, Becky Parkell, Salem, N.J. two sons, James Mulford Ballenger, Jr., Salem, N.J. Duane Russell Ballenger, Clarksburg, two step daughters, Dawn Skinner, Millville, N.J. Barbara O'Brien, Millville, N.J., grandchildren, Hunter & Tommy Parkell, Sophie Ballenger, step grandchildren, Joseph & Anasthesia O'Brien, one brother, Matt Ballenger, Harmersville, N.J.
Jim was a self-employed Carpenter & Painter. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and was currently serving as the minister of Troy Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be conducted in the Faith Baptist Church at 1PM on Friday, March 14, 2014 with Pastor Jim Messenger presiding.
