Ida Ethel Prim, 89 , of Cabin Run Community, West Union departed this life on Sunday, May 4, 2014 in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown. She was born April 26, 1925 in Cairo (Little Painter) a daughter of the late Michael Elza and Epsie Lee Mercer Fox. On January 8, 1947 she married Charles Wayne Prim who preceded her in death on May 28, 2002.
Mrs. Prim is survived by her loving family, two sons, Dale Wayne Prim and wife Brenda, Williamstown, Charles Dwight Prim and wife Jackie, Harrisville, one brother, William Dayne Fox and wife Emma, St. Mary's, three grandchildren, Brian Alan Prim and wife Mary, Hurricane, Shelli April Stinespring and husband Michael, Deep Valley, Mark Wayne Prim and wife Kristen, Frazier's Bottom, two great- grandchildren, James Leo Stinespring and Charley Victoria Stinespring, nieces, nephews, cousins, good neighbors and wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death one sister, Sena Georgia Mahaney, four brothers, Pearl Brooke Fox, Delbert Wayne Fox, Emmett Blaine Fox, and Albert Zane Fox and great granddaughter Mikiah Stinespring.
Mrs. Prim was a devoted and loving housewife, mother and grandmother. Ethel loved flowers and gardening. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed quilting and collecting family photos. She was a member of the Doddridge County Senior Citizens Board of Directors and was a member of the Pike Church of Christ.
The family would like to thank special care-giver, Dulcie Bonnell, WVU department of Orthopedics, Dr. Adam Klein and staff, the SICU Nursing Staff and everyone involved in her care.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front St. West Union on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 11:00AM with Evangelist Terry Jones presiding. Interment will follow in Cabin Run Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Thursday May 8, 2014 from 5-8PM.
