Ida May McCutchan, 80 of Deep Valley Community departed this life on Tuesday, June 12, 2018. She was born on Long Run, Greenwood Community on February 25, 1938 a daughter of the late Orval Lester and Mollie Thelma Jenkins Stevens. On July 11, 1953 she married Ralph Paul McCutchan who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Peggy Burgess and husband John, Oxford community, Ellen Sheets and husband Randall, Greenwood community, Tami Devericks and husband Jody, Pennsboro, one son Ralph Paul "Butch" McCutchan II and wife Sheila, West Union, grandchildren, Eric Burgess and wife Melissa, Selina Sanford and husband Bryan, Randy Sheets and wife Jessica, Josh Sheets and wife Alicia, Morgan McCutchan and wife Noel, Nicole McCutchan, great grandchildren, D.J. Burgess and wife M.K., Abby Burgess, Alissa Dotson and husband Cole, Aaron Davis, Courtney Sanford, Makalya Sheets, Jameson Sheets, Genavieve Sheets, Ivan Sheets, Eowyn McCutchan, Rhys McCutchan, honarary great granddaughter, Haley Sheets, one sister, Juanita Collins and husband Robert, Pullman, two sisters-in-law, Pat Stevens, Harmony, Arlene Stevens, AR. Ida May was preceded in death by one great grandson, Christopher Burgess, four brothers, Clay Hammond, Cecil "Sonny" Stevens, Leonard Stevens and Donald Stevens, one sister, Betty White and a very special friend, Virginia Gaskins Zirkle.
Ida May had been a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and had babysat many of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was very involved in Band Boosters and Majorette's for over 20 years. She enjoyed reading, doing crafts and working puzzles. Ida May was a member of the Arnold's Creek Christian Church.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front St. West Union on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Lemoyne Horner presiding. Interment will follow in the Masonic Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 2-8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. until time of service on Saturday.
