Homer Moore Obituary

Homer Lee Moore, 65, of Homer Lee Dr. West Union departed this life on Monday, February 10, 2020 after a courageous battle with lung cancer in the Genesis Health Care Center, Salem. He was born on November 17, 1954 at Clarksburg a son of the late Clyde Lincoln and Chloras Murphy Moore.



Surviving are brothers, Forest C. Moore and wife Carrie, West Union, Ora Moore, Center Point, sister, Doris Montgomery and husband Bill, Woodsfield, OH. nephews, Forest Moore Jr., New Martinsville, Daniel Moore Rt. 23, Philip Moore, Shirley, Monte and Rick Montgomery, OH, nieces, Faith Swann, West Union, Hope Balis, Salem, Charity Brinegar, Berkley Springs, Joy Keener, Fairmont, Patience Davis, Clarksburg, Helen Cain, former wife and friend. One sister, Emma Jean Moore preceded him in death.



Mr. Moore is a 1973 graduate of Doddridge County High School. He worked for the City of Nutter Fort for 43 years. Homer was a member of the Elk Lick Church of God and had recently recommitted his life to Christ. In earlier years Homer enjoyed camping, boating and cycling.



Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 56 Front St. West Union on Friday, February 14, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Walter Rohrbacher presiding. Interment will follow in the Center Point Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, February 13, 2020 from 4-8 p.m. and after 11:00 a.m. on Friday until time of service. Spurgeon Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Moore family.
