Harvey Stickel,

Harvey F. Stickel, Jr. 87, of West Union departed this life on Monday, November 21, 2011 in the Salem Care and Rehabilitation. He was born on October 17, 1924 in West Union a son of the late Harvey Filmore and Alice Perine Stickel. His wife, Melva R. Stickel preceded him on August 2, 2006.

Surviving is one daughter, Vickie Howard and husband, James, Goose Creek, SC, three step-grandchildren, James Howard IV, Kristin Threet and Benjamin Howard. One brother, Howard Stickel, and one sister, Fern Stickel Barr preceded him in death.

Mr. Stickel was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and had retired from the U. S. Air Force with 20 years service. Harvey was a member of the VFW Post #3408, West Union and the West Union Christian Church.



Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home 212 Front St. West Union on Monday, November 28, 2011 at 11:00AM with Richard McMillan presiding. Interment will follow in the Masonic Memorial Park, West Union. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, November 27, 2011 from 4-8PM. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the United States Air Force.
