Harry Dewitt Miner Sr. 79 of Horn Creek Rd. New Milton departed this life on Friday, October 09, 2015 at the residence of his daughter surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 15, 1936 at Linn a son of the late Albert C. and Ethel Maudie Burrows Miner. He was preceded in death by his wife Glenda Smith Miner and their daughter, Melissa Miner.
Surviving are two sons, H. Dewayne Miner, companion Karen, New Milton, Harry Dewitt Miner Jr. wife Lottie, Cairo, one daughter, Lora Nalley, husband Brian, Salem, grandchildren, Frank Crouch, Casey Miner, Joshua Miner, Morgan Miner, Dalton and Alessa Nalley, Melinda, Evie and Karen Scheuvront, one sister, Sue Spaur, Concord, N.C., one brother, Leroy Miner, Tanner. One brother, several sisters, nieces and nephews preceded him in death.
Mr. Miner was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the International Longshoreman Local 1317 where he had worked as a Longshoreman for 40 years. Harry enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on his farm and spending time with his family. He was Methodist by faith. The family would like to gratefully acknowledge Lori and Dana of People's Hospice for the wonderful care that they provided.
Graveside services will be conducted in the Freeman Cemetery, Crystal Lake on Monday, October 12, 2015 at 1:00PM with Bill Mumbauer presiding. Full military graveside rites will be conducted by the Combined Doddridge County Veteran's Organizations. Expressions of sympathy may be extended to the family at www.spurgeonfunerals.com.
