Gregory “Greg” Lynn Robinson, 77, of New Milton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center with his loving family by his side. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, faithful Christian, and respected member of the Doddridge County community, Greg lived a life defined by hard work, kindness, service, and deep love for family and the outdoors.
Born February 24, 1949, in Clarksburg, he was the son of the late Paul Robinson and Wilma Idolene Hart Robinson. Greg graduated from Doddridge County High School with the Class of 1967 and later attended West Virginia University. Through dedication and determination, he built a lifelong career in accounting and business. He began working with John W. Galbreath and Company in Columbus, Ohio, and later held positions with Fox Drilling in Glenville, Black Stallion in Clarksburg, and Bowie Incorporated. In 1993, alongside his beloved wife Betty, he proudly helped establish Doddridge Business Service, where he faithfully served local clients and customers across the United States for many years. Greg was known as a hardworking and dependable man whose integrity and strong work ethic earned the respect of all who knew him.
Beyond his work, Greg found his greatest joy outdoors. He was an avid hunter who loved planning elk hunting trips to Colorado and deer hunting with his son close to home in the hills of West Virginia. He and Betty shared a passion for travel and adventure, making it their mission to visit all 50 states together — a goal they proudly accomplished. Greg also enjoyed reading and was a loyal supporter of Doddridge County sports, rarely missing the chance to cheer on local teams with his daughter.
A man of deep faith, Greg was an active and devoted member of Smithburg Church. He gave freely of his time and talents, always willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed. His servant’s heart extended into the community as well, serving as past president of the Doddridge County Park Board and as a member of the Doddridge County Commission for six years. His quiet leadership and genuine care for others left a lasting impact on countless lives.
Greg is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty Louise Costilow Robinson, whom he married on March 28, 1970; his son, Matthew Eric Robinson (Joni) of Fairmont; his daughter, Alicia Lynn Robinson Wright (Eric) of New Milton; two grandsons, Matthew Dalton Robinson and Nicholas Alexander Robinson; one brother, Paul Randall Robinson of Gahanna, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Alana Lea Robinson, Alicia’s twin; infant sister, Wilda Claire Robinson; brothers, Robert “Bob” W. Robinson and William K. Robinson; and sisters, Patricia O’Neal and Judith Robinson.
Though his family and friends will deeply miss his steady presence, warm heart, and unwavering faith, they find comfort knowing Greg’s legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the values he passed on to those he loved.
Family will receive friends at Smithburg Church, 2881 Smithton Rd, Smithburg, WV 26436 on Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 1:00 PM until the time of Greg’s Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 PM with Pastor Bill Davis officiating.
