Frances Nesler, 87, long time resident of West Union, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday morning August 22, 2009 at Meadowview Manor, Bridgeport, WV. She was born on May 27, 1922 in Cleburn County, Arkansas to Hughie and Etta Davis.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Edgar Fulton Nesler on June 14, 1998. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by six sisters:, Pearl Hay, Annis Parks, Lola Davis, Vivian Davis, Alice Davis and Vinita Adams; two brothers: Curtis and Fred Davis; one son, Donald Nesler; and one great-grandson, Cory Clark.
She is survived by her children: Delores Dunaway Kimble and husband Jack of West Union, Florence Clark and husband Carlos of Bloomfield, Kentucky, Charles Nesler and wife Mary Lee of West Union, Terry Nesler and wife Wanda of Saint James City, Florida, Clint Nesler and wife Vickie of Bridgeport. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Timmy Clark, Charles Edgar Nesler, II, Gina Fultz, Michael Dunaway, Richard Dunaway and Lucas Nesler; five great-grandchildren , three step great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Ola Webb, Elsie Hughs and Dorothy Cline.
Frances was a wonderful mother and grandmother whose passion in life was caring for her family. She will be remembered for her southern family cooking, sewing, gardening and giving sugar to all her grandchildren. She was a member of the West Union Christian Church.
The family acknowledges and appreciates the loving care given to Frances by the staff at Meadowview Manor Health Care Center in Bridgeport.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the Spurgeon Funeral Home, 212 Front Street, West Union with Pastor Tom Waters officiating. Interment will follow in the Masonic Memorial Park, West Union. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home chapel on Monday, August 24, 2009 from 4-8 PM and after 10 AM on Tuesday until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association of North Central West Virginia.
