Fern Shepherd Obituary

Fern A. Shepherd, 70, of Greenwood departed this life on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 in the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport. She was born on October 10, 1945 in Pennsboro, Ritchie County, a daughter of the late Emmett and Helen L. Buzzard Satterfield. On January 8, 1963 she married James Shepherd who preceded her in death on July 26, 1997.

Surviving are one son, James A. Shepherd II, Greenwood, one daughter, Melissa A. Shepherd, Greenwood, grandchildren, Arizona Nicholson, Cheyenne Nicholson, Joshua Ferguson, Stephaine Ann Gullett Lounds, Jaedan Ezabela Shepherd, great grandsons, Parker & Jackson Ferguson, one step grandson, Garrett Mayle, one sister, Fatima A. Payne, Dickson, TN and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, James Satterfield and one sister, Florris A. Cunningham.

Mrs. Shepherd was a homemaker and was a member of the Pennsboro Apostolic Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Spurgeon Funeral Home, 212 Front St., West Union on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 1:00PM. Interment will follow in the Robinson Cemetery, Long Run Rd. Greenwood. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, December 27, 2015 from 4-8PM and after 9AM on Monday until time of service.
